New post every Sunday

Hey everyone, as some of you may know, recently I uploaded two posts writing about which recipes I wanted to try from Tanya Bakes which is Tanya Burr's brand new baking book. Today I am going to be sharing with you the recipe for cornflake choc chip cookies . Let me know if there's any recipes you want me to write up for you all and lets get into the post....

                                                      Ingredients:

200g of softened Unsalted Butter
300g of Golden Caster Sugar
300g of Self-raising Flour
200g of Milk Chocolate Chips
80g of cornflakes
A pinch of sea salt
1 Large Egg

Method:

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C/ 400 degrees F/ Gas Mark 6. Then, line two baking trays with greaseproof paper.

Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then whisk in the egg until smooth.

Add the flour, chocolate chips, cornflakes and sea salt to form a dough. Then, divide into 12 balls (one for each cookie).

Squash the balls of dough down onto a baking tray leaving plenty of space for each cookie as they do grow fairly big.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the cookies are golden. Leave them to cool for 20 minutes on the tray and then transfer them to a wire rack to cool fully.

When the cookies are taken out of the oven, they may not looked cooked, but don't put them back in otherwise they will burn and not taste that great :)

So guys, that's it for today's post. I hope you enjoyed this post, and I will see you very, very soon,

Love Lou

Qotp- Have you got Tanya Bakes, and if so, what is your favourite recipe?

Hey everyone, as some of may know if you read my what I got for my birthday post, I got the original Naked palette for my birthday. Today, I thought I would do a little review for you all and then in a couple of weeks, I'm going to be doing a tutorial with the palette, so stay tuned for that. Thank you so much for reading, and I will see you all very, very soon. xx

First off, I want to say how much I love this palette, it is incredible! The quality is amazing! All of the shades are super pigmented but there is barely any fall out which is actually really good compared to other palettes such as La Palette Nude which has a fair amount of fall amount. I still recommend doing your eye shadow before your base make up just to save any issues.

Another good thing about this palette is - it's so durable. If I put this on in the morning with an eye primer, it sticks all day. I haven't actually tried this without an eye primer but from the quality of the product, I'm guessing it would be okay.

In the palette, there is a wide range of colours, ranging from the highlight shade (Virgin) to a metallic black (Creep). This palette's shades are mainly bronze, gold shades. Naked 2 is based on taupe shades, Naked 3 is rose shades and Naked Smoky is based on smoky shades - I got the original as none of the other palettes would have suited me that well.

This palette is also so good to travel with. When not in the box, it's really quite thin which is amazing. It also comes with a fairly big built in mirror in the top section of the palette and a double ended brush which is actually quite good. The palette has 12 shades so all you would need to take with you was the palette and you would be good to go. There is 10 shimmer shades and 2 matte. The 2 matte shades are brown toned so you could use them for your eyebrows. Naked would be good for dark blonde/light brown brows and Buck would be good for medium brown brows.

The only downside to this product is the price. Personally, I think it's worth the money but other people think it's ridiculous. However, there are many high street dupes on the market that you could try before splashing out the whole £38.50 on it.

Thank you so much for reading, and I will see you all very very soon,

Love Lou

Qotp - Do you own any Urban Decay products?

Hey everyone, today won't be as upbeat as normal, but still as important to me. I won't do a massive intro to this so.... lets get into it :) xx

A few months ago, I did a collab with the lovely Amelie (El) and Marti (Pink Smarties) and the response I got was so overwhelming - you guys went crazy for it! (Click here if you haven't read it) Obviously, I don't want to do posts like this all the time so that's why I've left it a few months before doing another one.

Personally, I feel as though teenage girls (and boys for that matter) feel as though that have to fit into this ludicrous social standard - and I think this is down to social media. Don't get me wrong - I think social media can be a wonderful place if you use it correctly, which most teens now a day don't.

Big brands and companies (mainly makeup, beauty  fashion related) create new advertising campaigns on a daily basis. This means that teens are constantly being influenced by campaigns. They see the billboards, they see the tv adverts. But what most people don't realize is, they are fake. Let's be real : no one can look like that without the help of Photoshop or some form of computer editing.

Most people aspire to be like them. Thinking 'i wish I looked like that' or 'why can't I look like that'. And to be completely honest: you can't. The men and women in adverts get edited so much that sometimes they become fake. That must be hard on the models, knowing that have to be Photoshopped before their pros can be plastered over billboards or streamed on millions of tv's worldwide.

This world has become a very scary place.

I think: that everyone should be seen as beautiful no matter what past, present or future they have, everyone and I mean absolutely everyone should be seen as beautiful.

Thank you so much for reading, and if you do a post similar or based on this, let me on via Instagram or in the comments.

Hey everyone, it seems like forever since I last did a what I eat in a day, so I thought I would do one for you today. This was from the 15th July for those of you who may be interested. I hope you enjoy this post, and I will see you very, very soon. xx

Breakfast:

This morning, I had vanilla yogurt with strawberries. This is a classic for me in the summer time, the strawberries are always nicest in July, I think. This is also quite a healthy option compared to chocolate based breakfasts e.g. Coco Pops. As a drink, I had a glass of apple juice.

Lunch:

Today, I had a jacket potato with butter and beans. It was a fairly nice day so we ate it outside for one of the first times this year - it was great! Afterwards, I had a slice of Victoria sponge and a glass on juice.

Dinner:

Today I had sausage plait which is one of my favourite things ever. For those of you who haven't come across this concept before, it's puff pastry made into a plait pattern over the top of sausage meat. I had this with potatoes and melted butter and a con on the cob. Again, with this I had a glass of juice - you probably all think I'm obsessed with juice! haha

Snacks:

I didn't have very many snacks today, just an afternoon snack. This consisted of some Hersheys Cookies and Crème drops which I have been banging on about so much recently!

Thank you all so much for reading and all of your continuous support. I love you all so much and I will see you again on Monday,

Love Lou

Qotp - What's your favourite food - ever?

Aotp - This is pretty tricky, i'd have to say pizza or chicken pasta bake - I'm a huge fan of Italian food :)

By the way, if you want a recipe for anything I have mentioned in this post (or similar posts for that matter), let me know in the comments. Also, if there is any questions you want me to answer as the Qotp's , just ask me them in the comments!

Hey everyone, I know ....... "Lou, what are you doing? It's the middle of Summer!". But, I never got the chance to write this in winter, so I thought I would do it anyway. Today, I am going to be reviewing Lush's Snowman Shower Jelly, enjoy :) xx

Scent

For those dedicated Lush fans out there, this has the same scent as Carrot soap which gets released every Easter I believe. Though, don't be fooled, it has a nice citrus-y side to it as well. It has in it: Buchu, Sicilian Lemon and Bergamot Oil. The bergamot oil makes this feel so moisturising and luxurious on the skin. I love the scent of this, but other people hate it, ...... maybe it's like marmite, you love it or you hate it.

Uses

I know some of you will think this is a pointless section but, this actually has another use, which you probably wouldn't expect. This can be used as a shower gel, or a shampoo! I never knew this until recently and it really surprised me! But, there you go, you learn something new every day.

This product, has a lot of positives to it. The thing that I loved the most about this, was when you flop it out of the tub, it looks like a snowman! This is such a lovely touch to a bathroom during Christmas time - it just looks so festive! This lathers up really well and made lots of amazingly scented bubbles! It was Christmas heaven mixed with a festive bath bomb or bubble bar! And for those of you who are interested in the ethical side of Lush, it is self-preserving and is suitable for vegetarians and vegans. And obviously, not tested on animals (LUSH is a complete cruelty free brand).

There is, however, a few down sides to this. The main one being, it fell apart! I was so disappointed. It was okay, when the head broke off from the bottom, I could live with that but then the 2 sections started breaking into lots of little bits which were too small to use.
I was quite disappointed. The other downside of this product is, it can be very, very slippery and this is a nightmare for in the bath with loads of bubbles! But, I guess all shower jellys are like that!

Also, all shower jellys are part of a long standing program at Lush. If you take back the pots with the "Not-Virgin" symbol (shown below) on it, you get a free face mask. It's a win - win situation!

Anyway, I hope this wasn't too festive for the middle of summer and that you actually enjoyed this post,

QOTP - Which Lush Shower Jellys have you tried?
July 20, 2016 2 comments
Hey everyone, it's been a long time since I did a products I want to try post, so I thought I would do one for you. Today I am going to be sharing with you the high end bits and bobs that seem to have popped up on my wishlist. I hope you enjoy this post, and I will see you all very very soon. (For those of you who are on a tight budget right now, maybe this post isn't for you .... ,sorry) xx

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer

I see a lot of people rave about this here on the internet so I cant help wanting to give it a whirl. One thing that most people have said, is when you buy your first one, don't order online as the colours can look a little different online, so maybe go into a store for your first purchase. This is £17.50 which is quite pricey compared to the average drugstore concealer.

MAC Lipstick in Brave

I love the MAC lipstick I have so I really want to try more colours. When swatching them in store, I fell in love with Brave but it was so busy, so I didn't end up getting it! The fact that I didn't get it, has made me want it even more. All MAC lipsticks are £15.50 which is such a good price when taking durability and quality into account.

Benefit Dandelion Blush

I have never tried a Benefit product! I know, crazy right! Everyone always says how good the Benefit blushes are and when looking online, I was debating whether to put this, or Rockateur blush in. Eventually, I settled on this but I also want to try Rockateur! Dandelion is £23.50 which I think is very very pricey for a blush.

Urban Decay Primer Potion Mini

Side note; I had to put the mini in instead of full size as I couldn't find the full size listed on the website.

Nearly every blogger has tried this and I want to know what all the hype is about. I have Urban Decay eyeshadows, and they are amazing, so if that's anything to go off, I think they must be pretty good. For the mini, it's £8.

theBalm Meet Matt(e) Liquid Lipstick

I haven't stated the colour I want to try, because all of the shades look amazing! A lot of people have compared the quality of these to the Kylie Jenner lip kits. So, if you're not a fan a Kylie's colours, maybe check these out! These are £13.50 which is a lot cheaper than the lip kits.

Too Faced Size Queen Mascara

The amount of times people mention Too Faced mascaras is crazy! Everyone seems to love them! I don't really know what else to say about it. It's £18 which is slightly cheaper than my regular Smashbox Full Exposure, so maybe I should give this a whirl.

Thank you so much for reading and being the best readers ever! You're always so lovely,

Love Lou

QOTP - Have you tried anything that has been mentioned? If so, did you like it?

Hey everyone, today I am going to be sharing with you the second half of my Drugstore Tag. (If you didn't see the first post, click here). Anyway, if you don't like hearing what I don't like, this post isn't for you. I hope you enjoy this post and I will see you all very very soon.

Least Favourite Lip product:

Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick in Sweet Pea : it's just pure glitter!

Least Favourite Mascara:

Collection 10x volume mascara : the brush is too big to use and it just clumps your lashes together.

Least Favourite Concealer :

I know I put this as a favourite last time but now I don't like it. It's Collection Lasting Perfection.

Least Favourite Shampoo:

Soap and Glory Glad Hair Day : It made my hair really greasy!

Least Favourite Shower Gel:

To be honest, I don't really have one.

Least Favourite Skincare Brand:

Probably Boots Simply Sensitive. It was okay when I first starting using skincare products, but now I don't find it does anything.

Anyway, I hope this wasn't too much of a downer post,

Love Lou
xx
