New post every Sunday

Hi everyone, and welcome to our collab (Lou,El and Marti) today, we are going to be talking about issues that we feel influence teenagers and young people of this generation. We hope you enjoy this post and we will see you again very soon. xxx Byeee

I recently saw a video by Dove (the skincare brand) which showed how much images on tv and in magazines are edited and it really shocked me. Obviously, I already knew that photos were edited but I didn’t realise what extent they are actually edited to. The world’s definition of “beauty” is an impossible task to achieve for anyone from me to you to Kylie Jenner - it’s just not possible. We shouldn’t be looking at these photoshopped images and saying “I wish that was me”. Everyone needs to embrace themselves and love themselves for who they really are and we need to get this impossible idea out of teenagers and young people’s heads. After seeing this video, I didn’t look at people on magazines in the same way and I didn’t watch tv in the same way because at the back of my mind I knew that most of the images were photoshopped or the actor/actress/model was wearing excess amounts of make-up that was actually damaging their skin. Personally, I think there shouldn’t be the saying “beauty hurts” because at the end of the day there is no such thing as being “perfect” or “flawless”. Us girls, should enjoy putting on make-up or putting on face masks etc. and we shouldn’t be doing it just to look better. Anyway, I suggest you watch this video and you will completely understand what I mean. Sorry, this was a bit of a ramble but this is something I feel very passionately about and I feel like the world needs to take this matter more seriously.

Thank you so much for reading,
Love Lou

Hey guys, and welcome to a new series here on Lou Loves. I have been planning this series for months now and I am so excited to share it with you all. I will be uploading a "Lou's Guide To:" every Monday so I really hope you all like this series. Anyway, I will stop rambling now and get into the post. xxx I hope you enjoy.

As some of you may know I have dry and sensitive skin that tends to hate me 99% of the time. I thought that now I have found some good products I would share them with you as I know I would have benefited so much from one of these when I first started looking at products. I am by no means saying these are the best products for everyone with dry and sensitive skin as everyone's skin is different - they are just some products that I have found or don't work for MY skin.

Firstly, Nivea. Where do I start, I always discounted Nivea when looking for  new skincare products as I associated Nivea with suncream - odd I know but oh well. hehe. I now love everything I try from their Dry/Sensitive skin range. I have tried: 3-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water, Rich Regenerating Night Cream and Rich Moisturising Day Cream.

I wasn't a big fan of Simple until I tried this because I found the range too harsh but this completely changed my mind. I got the Simple Spotless Skin Action Spot Zapper and this clears my skin so well. It is a rollerball application and I just roll it onto any spots and on my problem areas and it makes any blemishes go over night. I use this morning and night and I find it isn't too harsh but it does work.

I did try the Yes To Cucumbers range , I found it great at the start but as I got down the tube of cleanser it didn't seem to work as well. I don't know if this was because my skin got used to the product or it just didn't work as well as it went down.

The final brand that I used at the start, was Boots Simply Sensitive. I liked using this brand when I first started using skincare and it was really good, but as I got older and my skin became more problematic it just wasn't doing the job well enough. I would, however, recommend this to anyone starting out in skincare or anyone who doesn't like using harsh products or anyone who doesn't have very problematic skin.

Anyway, I hope this helps any of you out there with sensitive skin and I will see you very soon,
Love Lou

Hey guys, I'm back with another baking post! I have not done one of these in months so I really excited to get back into baking posts but today I am going to be sharing with you a recipe for Ester Rocky Road! Hope you enjoy. xx

For 25 squares-ish you will need ...

- 100g of almonds
- 90g of mini marshmallows
- 300g of 70% dark chocolate
- 400g of milk chocolate
- Mini Eggs for decoration

Method . . .

Get a brownie tin (about 23cm/9inches) and pre-heat the oven to 200C/180C Fan/Gas Mark 6. Scatter the almonds over a baking tray and toast in the oven for 10 minutes. When cool, halve the almonds and cut the marshmallows into about 1cm cubes. Break up the milk and dark chocolate but make sure you keep them separate. Melt each chocolate in separate bowls and then set both aside to cool to room temperature. Line the base and the sides of the brownie tin with greaseproof paper. Mix together the milk chocolate, almonds and 2/3 of the marshmallows. Spoon the milk chocolate mixture into the tin in 3 rows. Now fill the gaps between the rows with dark chocolate and use a skewer to marble the 2 chocolates. Scatter on top the rest of the marshmallows, almonds and mini eggs - you could also add a little extra detail like a MaltEaster Bunny in one corner. The chill the rock road in the fridge for a couple of hours until the slab hardens. Also, take the rocky road out of the fridge 30-60 minutes before serving it otherwise it may crack.

Anyway, I hope you liked this post and I will be doing lots more baking posts soon. I will see you all very soon,

Hey guys, and welcome back to my Lush Tag! If you didn't see the first part of this tag click here to check it out. Anyway, lets get straight into this. I hope you enjoy and I will see you all very soon. xx

What Is Your Favourite ...

1- Lush Store?

Like about every other Lush fan the Oxford Street store which is 3 floors high and I am so excited to visit next year (2017) so I will definitely be sharing my experience with you.

2- Bath Bomb?

I don't think I have one in particular that is an all year round product but I love Fluffy Egg at Easter.

3- Bubble Bar?

This is definitely absolutely 100% The Comforter. I love this bubble bar and I talk about it alllll the time so I'm not going to ramble on.

4-Massage Bar?

I haven't tried any but if I went on smell it would be Strawberry Feels Forever.

5- Lush Kitchen Item?

As I said in my last post, I haven't tried any Kitchen products but they all look so cool!

6- Shower Gel?

At Christmas it is 100% Snow Fairy but all year round is The Comforter - I think I have a little obsession. Hehe.

7- Shower Jelly?

I love the Snowman shower jelly that was released at Christmas and I haven't actually tried any others but I definitely want to!

8- Fresh Face Mask?

Even though I haven't tried any I really want to try Cupcake.

Bonus Question!

What product would you bring back?

I would bring back either Granny Takes A Dip Bath Bomb or I would bring back the penguin that was released in the 2014 Christmas Range - it was so cute!

Hey everyone, today I am going to be a tag! I haven't done a tag in ages so today I am going to be doing the Lush Tag. I am going to be using the questions from Louise Rose 's blog so go check the post out if you want the original post. I hope you enjoy this post and I will see you very soon. xx

My First...

1- Bath Bomb?

I am not 100% sure but I have a feeling it was Think Pink - a bright pink bath bomb with multi-coloured flowers on the top and confetti on the inside

2- Bubble Bar?

I know for sure this was The Comforter. It is pink and white swirled and smells like berries!

3- Massage Bar?

I haven't tried any of the Lush massage bars yet but they look super cool.

4- Kitchen product:

I haven't tried any of the Kitchen products but they all look so good - I definitely need to try some!

5- Shower Gel/Cream?

I think this was Happy Hippy - I got this because I saw Louise (Sprinkle of Glitter) talk about this in one of videos.

6- Shower Jelly?

This was Snowman (2015 Christmas Collection) - the shower jellys hadn't appealed to me until then.

7- Fresh Face Mask?

I haven't actually tried any face masks but I definitely want to try Cupcake.

8- Bar of Soap

If I remember correctly, it was Limestone - at least I think that was what it was called.

Thank you so much guys, part 2 will be up Wednesday.

Sport Relief

Sport Relief is an event that runs every 2 years and I always make sure I contribute. I donated £3 and ran 2.5 miles for the cause. The group of us who did it ran 450 miles (roughly) which I think is pretty impressive - there was 250 people.

Hey everyone, today I am going to be sharing with you the top 5 products I like to use in the bath or shower. I hope you enjoy this post and by the way none of the products are in any particular order, they are just the top 5 products. xxx

Soap and Glory Glad Hair Day Shampoo and Conditioner:

I put these 2 together because I like using them together. When I use the shampoo and conditioner together it makes my hair look healthy and shiny without it looking greasy as well as feeling soft and healthy. They both also come in minis which is great for travelling as it is exactly the same product. These are also quite reasonably priced - the shampoo and conditioner are both £5.50 for the full size (250ml) and for the 50ml mini it is £1.80.

Lush - The Comforter

I talk about this product a lot as it is honestly my favourite bubble bar from Lush. It smells of berries but it is really an all year round scent. It is also quite moisturising and makes lots of bubbles. It is one of the more expensive bubble bars from Lush but it usually lasts me 4 or 5 baths which compared to the others which I get 2 or 3 baths out of, it's pretty reasonable. It also makes your bath water pink as the bubble bar itself is pink and white swirled. Also, in summer 2015 they released this as a shower cream which smells exactly the same.

TreacleMoon That Vanilla Moment

I got this a couple of months ago from my local Tesco but they also sell at Waitrose. It acts as a bubble bath and a shower cream which is really handy. It comes in a range of scents but I am a huge fan of vanilla so I got this one. It creates a lot of bubbles and as a shower gel - a little goes a long way. I am definitely going to buy more of these and the Cocoa Heaven and Lemonade Days smelt really nice so they are 100% at the top of my list to try from them. They also do a body scrub in this scent which looks so cool! Also, TreacleMoon have an app on the app store where you design your own shower gel! HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!

Soap and Glory Scrub 'em and Leave 'em

This has to be my all time favourite body scrub. It has the original S&G scent which I think is possibly my favourite S&G scent. It comes in a big size - 300ml (£8) - and a mini - 50ml (£2). There isn't much else I can say about this apart from it's just a really good scrub.

Zoella Beauty Foam Sweet Foam

I love this as it foams up really nicely as a shower gel but do NOT put it in the water - I didn't but someone I know did however nothing worked. It has a really fruity smell which I think definitely has a blueberry smell to it which is really nice. It is also really cheap - £3.50 for 250ml.

Thank you so much for watching and I will see you very soon,

Hey guys, today I am going to be sharing with you what I get up to in a usual morning, I hope you enjoy this post and let me know in the comments if you want an evening routine. xxx

I usually wake up at about 9 am and I just sit in bed for a bit and just check my phone. Then I get up and go into the bathroom where I wash my face and then brush my teeth using my favourite toothpaste which is the Colgate Cavity Protection Toothpaste. This is so good and leaves your mouth feeling minty fresh. I then go downstairs to get breakfast which usually consists of Belvita Choco-Hazelnut Tops and Waitrose Apple and Blackcurrant Juice Drink.

Even though this is water not juice drink hehe

I then go up stairs and just do the same make-up I do every day - Smashbox Hydrating Under Eye Primer, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, Smashbox Full Exposure and Kiko Velvet Mat in 613. Then I get ready and at the minute I have been loving wearing high waisted jeans, a tee and my grey Jack Wills Hoddie. Then I normally grab one of my bags - Either pink and silver or black and gold (both from New Look).

Thank you so much for reading and I will see you again at 7pm GMT.

Hey guys, today I am going to be sharing with you some of the products that I have recently finished. I hope you enjoy. xxx

Foam Call

This is a Soap&Glory body wash/shower gel in the Fruitigo scent. It is yuzu, orange oil, green fig and jungle pomelo essence. This smells summery and fruity and it's actually really awakening. I would definitely re-purchase this and I would definitely recommend this to a friend or family member.

Lush Yog Nog Bath Ballistic

This bath bomb was in the Christmas Range at Lush and I think it has been for a few years but I can't be sure. I got it for the first time this year and I loved it so much. It is a really sweet scent - it smells like honey!!!! There is also quite a lot of other products in the scent family including a soap. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who loves sweet. honey-y scents.

Nivea Sensitive 3-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water for Sensitive skin

I love this cleanser - I am now nearly on my 3rd bottle. This removes make-up so easily without having to scrub at your face. Usually, I get quite sticky eyes after using some cleansers but this does not do that at all. I would recommend all of the Nivea ranges - they do at least 3 different ranges. I also really like the Rich Moisturising Day Cream and the Rich Regenerating Night Cream.

Lush Peeping Santa Bubble Bar

This bubble bar was also in the Lush Christmas Range and if I remember this year was it's first release. It was designed to look like a little santa peeping out from under his hat - hence the name. I loved this and I will definitely be re-purchasing this year if it comes out again.

Superdrug Action Spot Stick

When I was originally using this I thought it was reasonably good but when I went into Superdrug to pick up another I thought I would try a different one - I chose the Simple Spotless Skin Action Spot Zapper. Now, in comparison this one isn't as good. I think this would be great for a newbie in skincare/make-up but not so good if you are used to high quality products.

Lush Golden Wonder Bath Ballistic

Again, this bath bomb was in the Lush Christmas Range and has been for several years now. I try and get one of these every year because I love them so so much. It is shaped as a gold glittery present with a shimmery white bow. It turns your water a green/blue colour which is a complete contrast to the shimmery gold and white outer.

Primark Cotton Pads

I use these to take my make-up off. To be honest there is not much about this but they are really good value for money as you get 120 for 50p.

Lush 5 Golden Rings

This is the last Christmas product I am going to share with you. This was 5 bubble bars on an orange string and you break one off to crumble in the bath. These do however leave a huge glitter residue in the bath so I don't think I will be re-purchasing it this year/

Lush Karma Bubble Bar

This is an all year round bubble bar and it is one of my favourites from Lush. It has quite a spicy scent but has orange in it so it is the perfect balance. I will definitely be re-purchasing this even though it's look was changed in August 2015

Beauticology Toasted Marshmallow Foot Lotion

I loved this foot lotion and I am so sad I have run out of this. It is such a sweet scent and I don't know where I can get it form as my friend gave it to me in a set for Christmas (it came with come super fluffy fluffy socks). I do however have a Vanilla Cream foot lotion to fulfil me sweet foot lotion need hehe.

Lush Big Bang Bubble Bar

The final product I am going to share with you is Big Bang bubble bar. This is bright blue with a 2 soap stars on the top which are bright pink. This is a really different scent that I cannot quite describe but it is really nice. I will definitely be re-purchasing this again - I think it's becoming one of my favourites.

Thank you so much for reading,

Hey guys, as you may know a lot of things here on my blog are centred around beauty products so today, I thought that I would flip things around completely and do my top 5 non beauty favourites. I hope you enjoy xx.

Girl Online & Girl Online : On Tour

If you didn't already know these 2 books were written by Youtuber/Blogger Zoe Sugg (Zoella). These are aimed at teens It is based around a girl called Penny who falls in love with a Rock star called Noah in New York. And, oh did I mention Penny has a blog called Girl Online.

Remington Hair Dryer Attachment

This may sound like a bit of an odd favourite (and look a bit odd too)! Anyway, you attach this onto the end of the hair dryer and pop your hair into it. Then turn it on and the air spins you hair around in the tube and therefore dries and curls your hair. I separate my hair into 8 sections and do 10 up and downs on each 10 times. This may seem quite excessive but otherwise it doesn't overly curl.

Love, Tanya

Again this is written by a blogger/youtuber but this is about Tanya's life growing up but it also includes beauty tips, fashion tips and a few recipes (including her triple chocolate cookies)

Ted Baker Pink Body Spray

I have mentioned this a lot of times. This a sweet vanilla-y scent which is gorgeous all year round I think. The mini sizes are also plastic so they are great to throw into handbags or maybe even your school bag. They also come in a big size but this however is glass.

Milli Marotta's Animal Kingdom

A lot of you probably already know what this is but Milli Marotta has released "adult colouring books". These are great for relieving stress.

Thank you so much for reading,

P.S. I have now changed my upload days to MON-WED-FRI at 6PM GMT.

Hey everyone, today I was originally planning on doing just my morning skincare but it wasn't too long so I thought I would combine evening and morning to make it a little longer. Hope you enjoy a bit of a longer post. xxx

Morning

First I cleanse my face my face using the Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive Caring 3-in-1 Micellar Cleansing water.I like to use the Primark Cotton Pads as they are small round ones but they do absorb a lot of product. They are 50p for 120 cotton pads. So, I squeeze a little bit of cleanser onto a cotton pad and just do little circles around my face to make me feel more awake and to get rid of any excess product from the night before. Then I use the Nivea Daily Essentials Rich Moisturising Day Cream - this is a really good moisturiser in the morning. It is a rich moisturiser but it doesn't make your face look or feel greasy. Then finally, I use the Simple Spotless Skin Rapid Action Spot Zapper. This claims to get rid of spots in 4 hours. I don't 100% agree with this but it does get rid of them quickly.

Evening

I do pretty much the same in the evening, I cleanse but I do use different moisturiser. Instead, I use the Nivea Rich Regenerating Night Cream. This is incredibly thick and little goes a long long loooooonnnnnggg way. I literally use a tiny bit and it goes all over my face. This makes your face look a little greasy but don't worry it soon soaks in. I then use the Superdrug action Tea Tree Spot stick and the Simple one. I like to put them both on as I feel like it gets rid of it completely overnight.

Anyway, thank you so much for reading and I will see you again on Sunday,
Love Lou
