New post every Sunday

I'm very much one of those people that likes to have a set make up routine. I tried this look out a couple of weeks ago and I've been wearing it non-stop since!

After I've primed my eyes with the Smashbox 24hr primer, I have been loving using my Morphe 12NB palette (aka 12 Natural Beauty palette). I use the palest shade (the first one in the palette) which is a gorgeous yellow undertoned base shade that I just sweep across my lid and up to the brow bone. I then use the 4th shade which is a gorgeous pale pink shade into the crease to create some definition. Finally, I use the 5th shade which is just slightly darker in the outer corner to deepen the shades a little!

I've gone back to using my holy grail L'Oreal baby roll mascara because I started using Benefit's Roller Lash but I had an allergic reaction so back to the old faithful it is.. Depending on what time I have, I'll either do just top lashes or I'll do both!

Onto the base, I use the L'Orea; hydra genius to moisturise my skin and then the true match foundation and concealer (shade 1.5N and 1N). I blend my foundation first with the Spectrum B01 brush but to help get a really nice blend, I spray it with a little bit of the Mraio Badescu rose water facial spray. I then use the same brush for my concealer as I've found it blends better with it than with a beautyblender. The I just use the Rimmel stay matte powder across my t-zone and under my eyes.

I used to be a powder only highlight kinda gal but I have completely fallen in love with high beam. It gives such a gorgeous pink glowy look just from a few drops across the cheekbones (and under the brow bone)

I have finally found my perfect brow match! Any blondes amongst you will now how hard it is to get eyebrow penicls that actually match your shade! This is in shade 3 so it might not be great if you have light blond hair but it's absolutely perfect for darker blondes. I just run this through my brows and it just brings everything together! - it doesn't take 5 hours either!!!

To complete the look I use the Tanya Burr lipstick in pink cocoa - which is nowhere near as dark as it looks on the picture!

Selena Gomez is one of my major style icons, so I asked on Instagram if you guys would want a "Get The Look" style post and it was a resounding yes!

I've actually really enjoyed hunting down similar items and I've found some gorgeous pieces..

First off is the Boohoo grace longline oversized shirt which is a near on exact match to this one when tucked into jeans!

On the subject of jeans, I found the Topshop MOTO washed black ripped joni jeans. These have just the rip on the knees, and to get that dark band along the bottom, just roll them up once to create that colour difference.

The blazer was a super hard one to track down! The colour is slightly deeper but the length and cut is bang on! It's from Bershka but you can get it super easily on ASOS.

The shoes are also from ASOS and they're pretty similar! They're the "lassie" ballet flat style and they're super cute!

The sunglasses are the priciest thing of this look, but they're so gorgeous ; they're the Ray Ban "erika" classic style with grey gradient lenses!

I've really enjoyed writing this style of post, so let me know if you've enjoyed it too and which celebrity you want next in the comments!

A bold statement I know and not one that's thrown around lightly but I mean it.... These brushes WILL change your make up game! These Spectrum beauties will make even Beyoncé jealous!

It's no secret that I love my Spectrum A10 fan brush but these 2 new discoveries have taken the top spot. They're the B01 flat top blender and the B06 tall tapered blender.

I've been in dire need of a good foundation brush for a while but have never got round to picking one up and just making do with my beauty blender. Now, owning this B01 babe, it's made me regret not picking one up! It's a flat top blender so really buffs the product into the skin but it's ridiculously soft so isn't scratching the product off your skin!

I used to not be that happy with the finish that my beauty blender created as it looked dry, flaky and all round a bit rubbish. This beaut on the other hand leaves you glowing and flawless all day (and night!) long. Although using a beauty blender is considerably quicker I think the finish it gives is worth adding a couple of minutes onto doing your make up

The other brush - B06 tall tapered blender - is THE brush for applying shadow into your crease or outer corner and then blending it out. Because of the height of the brush fibres you can get a really soft blend but still keeping that strong pigment.

I used to use the NYX 17 brush for this job but it never quite gave the soft blended finish I wanted so hat one is now fulfilling the job of blending my transition shade. This brush is also insane at blending out shades if you've applied too much as blend it to wherever you need it to be and if you press a little harder you can buff some of the product onto the brush!

Although I rave about the Real Technqiues brushes, Spectrum always go above and beyond with quality as well as design - how can you not love their brushes?!

I hope you're all enjoying your new year so far, thank you for all your support so far and I'll see you all soon!

As well as baking, I'm a huge fan of cooking so this is my recipe for chicken turnovers that I cannot get enough of!

Ingredients (makes 4):
I packet of puff pastry (or make your own)
2 chicken breasts (not cooked)
1 tin of condensed chicken soup
1 tin of sweetcorn
1 onion
1 pepper
1 egg to glaze

Set the oven to 200 C/Gas 6.

Cut the chicken, onion and pepper and place with the chicken in a bowl. Give it a good mix and add in the condensed chicken soup.

Flour your surface and the pastry. Cut into 4. Roll each quarter top to about the thickness of a 2p.

Cover 2 baking trays with greaseproof paper and place 2 turnovers on each tray. Fill with 2 spoons of filling and seal with egg and a fork to crimp around the edges. Glaze the top of each with egg and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Thanks all so much for reading, I hope you all enjoyed this post and I'll see you all on Monday,

Love Lou

Happy New Year everyone!!! To kick off the new year, I'm sharing with you my 4 goals for this year!

1- 80,000 Blog Views

My blog traffic is something that I've really been working on recently so having a numerical number to strive for is something that really helps me!

2- 750 Instagram followers

In 2017 I went from hating my Instagram to loving it again so I'm hopinh to carry that on into this year and hopefully pick some more followers up on the way!

3- Post to Instagram at least once every 3 days

Not consistently posting on Instagram is my major downfall and is something I'm trying to improve. I try to always make sure I have pre-taken photos but I always use them all and forget to take some more!

4- Reply to all comments on my blog and post on time all the time

These two are repeats from last year but it's something I definitely want to reach some I'm giving myself another year to try and get there!

Thnak you all so much for reading, and be sure to leave your goals for 2018 in the comments below! I hope you all enjoyed this post and I'll see you on Friday,

Love Lou
