New post every Sunday

Hey everyone,

It's been a little while since I last did a baking post so today I'm back with a recipe for S'mores macarons!

Ingredients (Makes 20):

Macarons:

120g of Egg Whites at room temperature
130g of Granulated Sugar
115g of Almond Powder
40g of Graham Cracker crumbs
110g of Icing Sugar

Ganache:

200g of Milk Chocolate
100g of Cream

Marshmallow Fluff:
Any shop bought marshmallow fluff

Method (Macarons):

Line baking sheets with parchment.

Place the almond powder, icing sugar and graham cracker crumbs in a food processor. Process it until it just starts to clump up. Sift the mixture, discard any bits that don't fit through the sifter and set aside.

Whip the egg whites until they're the consistency of a loose foam. Whip the mixture and slowly add in the granulated sugar. Whip into a stiff meringue.

Fold the dry mixture into the meringue. Pour the mixture into a piping bag. Pipe the mixture onto the baking sheet and sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs if desired.

When all of your macarons are piped, hit the baking sheet on the counter 3 times to get rid of any air bubbles.

Let the macarons dry at room temperature until dry to the touch. Approx. 1 hour - DON'T SKIP THIS STEP!

Ganache:

Chop the chocolate finely and place in a bowl. Heat the cream until boiling and pour it over the chopped chocolate. Don't stir it until after it has been left sat in cling film for 2 minutes. Then stir to fully combine then place it in the fridge to set.

Assembling:

Once the macarons are dry, bake at 300 F, until they stick a little on the baking sheet - this can be anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. Let the macaron cookies cool completely before removing them from the baking sheets. Pipe the ganache and marshmallow fluff onto the bottom of 20 macaron cookies and sandwich with another 20 which are similar in size.

I hope you all enjoyed this post, thank you so much for reading and I will see you all again very, very soon,

Love Lou

Hey everyone,

It seems like no time at all since I did my last monthly favourites but I'm back again to share with you what I have been loving for the past month!

The first thing I have been loving is a Heart and Home candle in the Simply Mulberry scent. I discovered Heart and Home just before Christmas last year when I found their Cinnamon scented one. Then around February time the whole range and I fell in love with the scent straight away. It's the freshest most fruity scent ever which I know is going to be amazing in Summer especially. This is also a soy wax candle which means it has a really nice clean and even burn instead of some other candles which burn a little unevenly. I got the smallest size and it was £6.99 but it has up to 30 hour burn time which is incredible for how much it is!

I've also been obsessed with the Zoella Beauty Foam Sweet Foam Shower Gel. This was part of the Tutti Fruity range from 2015 and I only just got round to starting it this month! It lathers up really well and the scent carries through out it and doesn't just kind of disappear into nothing. But as this was in the Tutti Fruity it's now been discontinued but I thought I'd throw it in because I have been really, really loving it!

A make up favourite of mine this month has been Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. This is THE best powder in the history of ever. That is a pretty bold statement BUT it is incredible. It sets your make up without making it look cakey or not doing anything at all. Also, it's a mattifying powder so keeps any grease away but I think this feels really light on the skin and not like it's clogging up your skin. This is only £3.99 and is available at Superdrug and Boots.

Finally I have been completely in love with Ed Sheeran's new album ; Divide. I love every single song on there - there's not even one that I don't particularly like. My favourites though are:
  • Nancy Mulligan
  • Galway Girl
  • Supermarket Flowers
  • Barcelona
  • New Man
Thank you all so much for reading, I love you all so very much, and I will see you again on Monday,

Hey everyone,

As you will all probably know, I went down to London for the weekend a couple of weeks ago, so today I'm sharing with you everything I picked up whilst I was there!

First off I went to Lush Oxford Street and picked up quite a few bits but so far I have only tried one thing so I can't really share my thoughts on them so far, but I am planning on doing a blog post later on the year sharing with what I thought of all the products.

Anyway, I picked up :

  • Mum Bath Bomb - yellow - Mother's Day Range (£2.95)
  • Golden Slumbers Bath Bomb (£4.25)
  • Sacred Lotus Bath Bomb (£4.25)
  • Cyanide Pill Bath Bomb (£3.95)
  • Which Came First? - spots - Easter Range (£6.95)
  • Elsie the Giraffe (You're havin' a bath) - Easter Range (£6.95)
  • Rub Rub Rub Body Scrub Bar (£5.95)
  • Baa Bar Bubble Bar - Easter Range (£3.95)
The product I have tried so far is Sacred Lotus which is a bath bomb in the shape of a flower. The bottom half of it is a shimmery white and then on the top it's a flower with a big yellow centre and purple flowers. From the look of the bath bomb, you wouldn't expect it to turn the bath water a glittery rose-y pink! The 3 main scents in it are Neroli, Jasmine and Tonka so it's quite a mix of sweet, herby and floral scents. This is one is £4.25 which I wold pay I in a normal store for it but considering the fact that this is an Oxford Street exclusive it's pretty good for the price.

Finally I picked up a new case from Skinny Dip which was in Topshop on Oxford Street. I have always been a fan of Skinny Dip as I feel the case are really sturdy and last for a really long time. The one I picked up has the signature skinny dip clear back which turtles on. But, to make it even better, the turtle's shell is holographic and the rest of the turtle itself is glittery! It was £14 which is pretty much the standard for their cases. (For those of you wondering, I have a 5s (also the same size as the SE) and it fits perfectly. Click here for the case that fits the 5/5S/SE

Thank you all so much for reading. I hoped you all enjoyed this little haul, I love you all so much and I will see you all again on Friday!
